LEARNING CENTER has partnered with local arts educators HFW to form Camp CRE-8: production-based enrichment sessions that keep academics sharp on the mind with exploration and creative opportunity, in an "it's summer, let's do something amazing" sort of way.
Magazine Making: Six-week production course that includes activities to develop techniques in research, interviews, writing and layout. Students produce a magazine of their own making.
Playwright's Playhouse: Six-week course in writing a stage play. Students will research and choose their topics, develop their characters and plot, and write their scripts. Finished student projects will be used in the Theater Production Workshop and budding playwrights will enjoy a public debut of their work.
Theater Production Workshop: Six-week production course with theater games, acting practice, directing and set design. Students immerse themselves in all aspects of a theater production, and then put on the play at a participating community venue.
